Moo-

http://www.moo-designs.com/shop/bags-bags2/moo-satchel/

By Looking on the Moo website I am able to see some of the bags that moo, make themselves, and also how they make them.

I then visited the shop to see for myself, and have a look around the shop to give me an idea on what the shop owners like for the bag designs. This has gave me alot of ideas, and has helped me too look into different artist and different patterns.

From going into the shop and looking on the websites its shown me that not only do they make bags, but they make clothes aswell and also shoes and accessories.

Weaving.

Here is my weaving sample done on the loom, Icreated this by first picking out 4 colours which I think went well with my theme "autumn" I then used a long stick and tied one colour at a time around it and then weaved the stick in and out to create this piece, each time I changed colour I would repeat this process until I got to the top. I then took it off the Loom and tyed each of the loose ends into knots to stop the weaving from coming apart.

Felting.

To start of my felting, I began by laying down a towel, getting a bottle of water and getting some bubble wrap this would stop the water from going all over the table later on. I then choose the felt which I wanted and got the pieces all together. I then began by ripping the felt into little pieces.

By the felt been in little pieces I was able to make sure that it was all joined on top of each other with no gaps in it, so later on the felt would all stay together.

I then choose coloured felt, which yet again linked into my autumn theme again. I used these colours to create a pattern, mine was trees and leaves. This I thought would lead and follow the drawings I'd been drawing in my  sketch book and on my visual sheets. I then began to pour water all over the piece and then I rolled the piece up in bubble wrap makeing it into a sasuage. I then had to roll it for a long amount of time, makeing sure that all the felt was stuck together. My final piece didnt contain any felting as I dont think it was my strongest piece in the project and I didnt enjoy doing it. Although my felting sample did work better then what I thought it was going to do.

Screen Print Sample for Nature

Here is one of my samples I did to see if it would work when coming to create my bag.
I first got some white cotton and made a colour up out of different dyes, which I thought looked like autumn colours. I then traced a pattern and handed it in so that my pattern would get put onto a screen. When this was done I was then able to print onto the fabric that i had dyed, for this to be my finishing sample to see if it would work when coming to my final piece.

Evaluation for Nature

Evaluation.

For this project I had to create a sketchbook, visual sheets, a mood board and a final piece which I choose to do a slouch bag. Through out this project I think my sketchbook worked really well I tried my best making sure I researched into all the different areas I was asked to, I got my information and images by looking on the Internet, in books and going into galleries. Another thing I enjoyed and think worked really well was my visual sheets I enjoyed doing them and using different medias, this being from pencils to puff binder this was so I could experiment . Another thing I loved doing was creating my bag, I'm very hands on and thought making it was really fun, even if I did find it difficult at times I pushed myself towards the end to finish it and to make sure it got handed in on time.

When doing my work, I made bag designs which I thought went well. But because I ran out of time, I had to do a simple pattern which would be my screen print onto my bag. so that was something I had to change. I also was going to add a big woven panel to my bag, but because of running out of time again and leaving it to the last minute I wasn't able to fit this to my bag. So unfortunately the weaving I did do went to waste.

Whilst going through my sketchbook there was certain pages I had missed or didn't finish so this was a task I had to overcome and make sure it was finished on time. Because I didn't find these bits till the end it took me back abit and left me behind struggling to finish everything else on time.

I didn't really work well on my time management, I didn't schedule everything in to slots to make sure I got them all done, so this is something I would learn for my next project. I found that at the end of my project I was left with just an hour left and I still had sketchbook work to do and my bag to create which I found affected my bag. As it could have been better.

I feel that even though i ran out of time, I handled it very well and managed to get everything done in time, even though my bag wasn't the way I wanted in to be I still managed to make it and I like the way it is. This is something I really need to concentrate on for further projects, to make sure I didn't fall behind again.

I used alot of different medias which I like to experiment on including puff binder, different pencils, oil pastels and screen printing. I also enjoyed trying out Knitting, weaving and poly print. I used the medias in all my sketch book, visual sheets and mood boards.

While working on this project I looked at different artists that was a part of some of the work that I had created, such as knitting, weaving, and screen printing artists this was another topic I found interesting to work with as i hadn't researched into them before. I found out information about them and also loved looking at the work they had created by using the same medias as which I was using myself.

Another media I used was felting, this is a media that I didn't enjoy working on and I don't think that it's one of my strongest points in this course. Unlike the weaving which I really enjoyed working on and was planning on this going into my final piece. It was something easy to do and I think it looked nice as well. I tried both cardboard loom and the normal loom, if I was to do it again I think I would choose to use the normal loom as its alot easier and quicker and by using the cardboard loom I wasn't able to finish the weaving in time.

If I was to do this project again there isn't alot I would really change. I found that i really enjoyed working on this project, even though through out it I found it difficult. I took on a challenge and made sure that everything was done to the best I could have done. Yet again the time management was something that made me struggle.
