Different stamps is some of my research in this project but I've been looking at different stamps from different countries around the world but also different years.

FMP
These are some images of envelopes and letters with contain different fonts which I found really interesting and found it similar to what I'm creating for my project.
FMP
I went on eBay to look at some old letters and envelopes and also stamps, as I've not been able to find any other then google images. I took photos and looked closely at how different they were to each other. I also concentrated on looking at how the font had changed throughout the years. These images are something that I will put it my skecthbook but also copy from for my work.

This dress has lots of detail and stood out really well. This is something I liked but something completely different to what I will be making.
FmP
This is another dress I thought linked in with my project really well as this pattern really caught my eye. The colours work really well and even though it hasn't got much detail I still found it interesting.

FMP
I decide to take this photo as for my final project I am creating a dress with prints on and I thought this was something similar to the dress I want to make.
FMP
When visiting London we went to Victoria and Albert museum in there I took some photos of dresses which I thought would link in with my project I'm doing. I took this photo as I thought it what well detailed and liked how different it was.

I've tried to recreate CY twombly's piece of work by sewing different coloured cotton into tracing paper, I don't think this has worked as well as I wanted it to, and I think that it would have worked better on a sewing machine rather then been done by hand. I experimented by using different colours to see how the pattern would look rather then just in dark colours. I think my version looks like messy work though but that's something that CY twombly is known for creating.

I first printed of a picture of an envelope but I thought it was plain and abit boring so I wanted to add my own effect to the picture, so I decided to try and print it out on magic touch paper and then I printed it onto brown paper, this piece didn't work as well as the others. But magic touch is something I will try working with again.

On this project I decided to try paper making something I haven't done before. I first got a tray full of water and ripped up paper and then got multiple different size and shaped siv's to try out different ones. I ripped out letters and words that I thought tied in with the project I'm doing to put into the paper I was making, I also added brown paper to give different effects, I like how this worked and I shall use it in different areas of my project.
FMP
I got some normal white paper, and then screwed it up to give it an old effect I then decided to tea bag the paper so that is was able to get the brown old paper effect. This worked really well and I've been able to use it throughout my work on my sheets I will continue to use this effect throughout my sketchbook. I think it links in well with the project I've chose to do.
FMP.
I first began by getting all the class to each write the same sentence as what i wrote so that I would be able to get different writing. I then bought some assetate to photo copy the paper version of the sentences on. To try out different medias.

Evaluation.
For the project 'live brief' i choose to do fashion which was creating a lining for the moo bags. i choose this as its more fashion based then the interior and that's something that i enjoy looking at.
For my research I took my own photos of moo bags which I looked at when I visited the shop
then from this i did my own drawings of the best ones that i liked and wrote abit about the leather and how there made. I also then looked at different bags, but didn't get much research as from time management. From my research i then looked into looking at the colours and the details, and how the bag was created to see which lining would go the best. It then came to me doing my visual sheets and with me looking in the 'Moo' shop i was able to see the colours which they worked with and the patterns they used. I also asked the workers on little advice that i could take forward into my designs.
When the clients visited they always said that they liked my work, so there was nothing ever to change. I changed some of my work myself as i thought other ways would work better to the way that id done them.
The client never had anything bad to say about my work. They always said that they liked it and that it worked really well. I stuck to the colours that they used and tryed to fit it around the 'Spring' theme as best as i could.
Throughout this project i wanted to think of a good, but simpled background for my lining, so i had to experiment on what i thought would work the best with my pattern. So from my visual sheets i looked how i created my background on them and tryed doing my own on white cotton, by this i made my own pigment colours and found a small sponge which i could sponge my pigments on the fabric to give it the same effect that was on my sheets. I found out several attempts that this effect worked. I then went on to trying it out in different colours. I was going to stick to just doing my pattern in two colours but while i was doing samples i tryed it out it out in browns and pinks to see what it would look like. I also then did it on muslin fabric to see how it would/ and if it would work on other fabric then just cotton.
I had alot of time of during this project so that meant me been behind, so to catch up and make sure everything got done i stayed behind after classes and also come back on my days off. I new this was for a client and had to be presented on time to them, so this determined my even more. Also because I didn't get my tracing done with much time left. i decided to do a simple pattern which i had created on my visual sheets. Even though it was simple i think it worked really well and i liked it.
If there was no client constraints i wouldn't have used different fabric as i think cotton works well its strong and easy to work with. But i perhaps would have used different colours as even though i think these colours worked well i would have liked to do it my own way.
I really enjoy working with leaves and flowers. So i decided to look into William Morris's work and how he created drawings using leaves and flowers. I enjoyed working with his work and looking into it and it helped me with my work. I also looked at Bridget Riley because i liked how she worked with lines and bright colours. This is something i was going to take into my work, but it didn't work. And i perferd the sponging effect.
I did nine patterns on my sheets so i had a choice to choose from, but this was one that caught my eye and that i liked working with. Because my pattern is simple and easy and only was made with two colours I don't think that my pattern would be too hard to be reproduced again.
Doing a customer profile helped me alot as i new that it needed to be girly and it needed to go with the spring season, it also helped me work on the colours and the design. Without this i think that i would have struggled abit.
I think that the only thing that went wrong was my blog as i didn't keep up to date with it so if i was able to do this project again I would keep up to track with my blog. and make sure i was blogging everyday. If i was to have worked on a sketchbook I don't think that i would have got it all done as i don't enjoy doing them so i did all my work on sheets and i got it all done in time.
My time management could have been better as i missed alot of time of college so this pulled me behind, but i worked fast and was able to get all my work done on time, so this didn't effect me to what i thought it was going too. For my next project I need to make sure my time management isn't behind. so i don't have to rush it all again.
I started my diary on filling it in everyday, but as i was trying to concentrate on the project so i didn't really remember to fill it in. I used my blog to the best i could and made sure i got the main images and information i needed on it. I think i could have done more on my blog then what i did, but then again i was busy trying to concentrate on my work.
When Ive done other projects I've always tryed to work the best i could to make sure i got it done on time. and to make sure it was to the best standards. But because it was for someone out of college i new it had to be done properly to make sure it was up to what they expected. I enjoy doing it and it was a very good experience. The feedback that moo gave me through out the project was brilliant it gave me more confidence in my design.
id give myself an 8/10 as i think if i had more time or was in college everyday i would have created something a little bit better but i do like my pattern. My strength was my sheets and printing, i really enjoyed working with a new pattern and making up my own pigments, i think my sheets all work well together and look presentable. To improve the project i would say time management as this cut me back alot and made me have to rush in the last week.

Moo
Because I had to create my own colours for my lining, I decided to get a colour chart of the Internet so then I could make sure my colours was near enough the same at all times when i re made them. From doing my mood board, and visual sheets i already new what sort of colours i wanted. So this was just a bit of help to the kind of colours.

For this I wanted to create the same background for my lining as what i did on my visual sheets, I used different sponges till I got the right one, that looked the same as my sheet. I also tried sponging more different coloured pigments on cotton, just to see which I thought looked the best. I found out that this one worked the best.
Using a different sponge and a different coloured pigment I then had another go to see what different colours, and ways would look like I found out that this one didn't work as good as i wanted it too. And i much preferred the other one as it looked exactly how my visual sheets did.
I then got more white cotton, and did my sponging pigment again on several pieces so I could do more samples. On this one, i got both my screens and decided to do some printing to see how it would all look together. I think that it worked well but it could have worked better. so i then did more samples, to see if it would change if i took more time while doing it.
Using different fabric I tryed my printing again, i think this one worked well. And I can't wait too see it all finished, I will then sponge pigment, or dyeing this fabric when its done. And then choose which one I will use as lining.
